About Us
How Colvin Country Store Began
Our story is one of humble beginnings, unexpected challenges, and the unyielding pursuit of a dream. Five years ago, we embarked on a life-changing adventure, leaving the security of corporate jobs to become the number one influence in our children’s lives. Our foray into farming started one cold winter day in our small two-bedroom house, with a baby goat in a cardboard box—a gift that set us on a path we never anticipated.
With no pens, no experience, and not even goat milk on hand, we were as green as could be. We rushed to find goat milk and a bottle, marking our first frantic, yet heartfelt step into farming. From there, our family grew alongside our farm, adding sheep, pigs, ducks, chickens, and even a stubborn milk cow who was supposed to be trained but turned our milking attempts into a daily rodeo.
Every step was a learning curve, steep and unyielding. We taught ourselves to make sourdough bread from scratch, tackled the challenges of animal care, and faced the trials of managing a burgeoning farm. It wasn't easy. In fact, it was downright frustrating at times. But through these challenges, we found our purpose.
The trials of COVID and local natural disasters further opened our eyes to the essential need for reliable, locally sourced food. It was during these times that God led us through the wilderness, and with much seeking of His guidance, He planted a vision in our hearts.
Today, Colvin Country Store is more than just a business—it's a realization of that vision. We offer an array of farm-fresh products, pantry staples, and baked goods, all sourced with care from local and regional farms. It’s our way of sharing our journey with you—providing families a reliable source of nutritious food, and promoting a sustainable, community-focused lifestyle.
Every product here has a story and every purchase supports a dream.
